https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C82qElsj90g

If you are planning for an auspicious beginning in your life or any new business, bring Lord Ganesha and take His blessings and ask Him to take away all the obstacles and problems.

Ganesh Chaturthi, Ganesh Utsav, Ganesh Festival, Where to place Ganesha, Ganesha Chaturthi, Puja Timings, When Is Ganesha Chaturthi, When is ganesh Chaturthi

Now the question comes, where to place Lord Ganesha?

  •  Well as per Vastu Shastra, Lord Ganesha’s idol should be placed in the east or the west directions of the house. Northeast corner of the house is the best location to set up your Ganesha’s idol.
  •  If northeast is not available then place an idol in a way that you face north or east while offering prayers
  • Make sure Lord Ganesha’s face is Not towards South direction.

  • Ganesh Chaturthi, Ganesh Utsav, Ganesh Festival, Where to place Ganesha, Ganesha Chaturthi, Puja Timings, When Is Ganesha Chaturthi, When is ganesh Chaturthi

When do we celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi?

The Chaturthi that falls on the Shukla Paksha of Bhadra Maas is known as Ganesh Chaturthi. On this day, Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati’s son Lord Ganesha was born and people celebrate this festival with full enthusiasm.

Ganesh Chaturthi, Ganesh Utsav, Ganesh Festival, Where to place Ganesha, Ganesha Chaturthi, Puja Timings, When Is Ganesha Chaturthi, When is ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi is on 13th September’18, Thursday

Is believed Lord Ganesha was born in Madhyakaal so Lord Ganesha's Puja timing is between 11:03 to 1:30 pm.

This festival is for 11 days and you can do Visarjan or Immersion as per your beliefs and facilities. You can do visarjan on 1 ½ day, 3rd day, 5th Day, 7th day, 10th day or 11th day. 11th day is known as Anant Chaturdashi and many people do visarjan on this day.

Make sure you are following these 7 very important Guidelines before bringing Lord Ganesha’s idol-

  1. While bringing Lord Ganesh statue you must focus on the direction of Lord Ganesha trunk. The left-sided trunk is advisable. The left-sided trunk represents Ida Nadi and brings peace and relaxing energies to you. Ganesha with the Right sided trunk is considered  stubborn and it is difficult to please Him.

  2. Make sure the Ganesha’s idol is in a Sitting position. The idol of sitting Ganesha is best for the house. If you want to place Ganesha’s idol at workplace then standing Ganesha is preferable. This brings energy and enthusiasm to work.

  3. Do not bring a Ganesha’s idol without crown or ‘Mukut’. Mukut/ Crown is a symbol of Unique and big thinking and an idol without the crown is considered as inauspicious. A crown or mukut enhances the beauty of Ganesha’s idol.

  4. On Ganesh Chaturthi, bring only Ganesha’s Idol. Since we perform puja to please Lord Ganesha on this day, thus avoid an idol that has Shiva, Parvati and Ganesha together for Ganesh Chaturthi.

  5. Whenever you are placing the idol of Ganesha, remember that modak (Indian sweet) and a mouse (Mushak) should be a part of the statue.

  6. Do not set up or establish Ganesh’s idol in Bedroom or to a wall which is near or next to Bathroom. It is inauspicious as per Vastu Shastra.

  7. The area of your home that is not as per the norms of Vastu Shastra, make a Swastik with Orange sindoor and cow ghee. Doing this reduces the negative impacts of the Vastu Dosha.

Place Lord Ganesha as per these rules and get His Blessings throughout the year.

Ayudh Puja has a significant role and is an integral part of Navratri festival

In 2018 Ayudh Puja is on 18th October i.e. on the ninth day of Navratri

Sri Sri Ravishankar, Sadhguru, Ayudha Puja, Navratri 9th Day,

This traditional festival is widely celebrated all over Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala

Let’s see how beautifully Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar explains Ayudh Puja

People used to worship weapons before war and it was strongly believed that worshipping weapons will bring success

Also, Demon Mahishasur was killed by Goddess Chamundeshwari using Her weapons

As per Indian Culture, it is important to first bow down to every single tools and objects one uses daily and then use it

On this, Sri Sri Ravishankar says-

“If you are filled with reverence for everything, life is so full.”

Means every single object that we use to perform a certain task should be respected

Here respect doesn’t mean worship or ritual

Yogi and Mystic Guru Sadhguru says-

“Reverence simply means you look up to it in a certain way. If you do not look up to it, if you think it is less than you, you will not be involved in it.
Where you are not involved, you will not benefit from it”

Respecting here means to look up to things in a particular way

If you ignore small objects that you use for a particular task then you will not be completely involved and lose focus in the task.

And where you focus less you will not feel fully contented for your achievements

That’s why it is important to bow down and respect every single object that we use as a part of Divinity

Doing this you will start focusing on every single and small things/objects

And as a result there be no mistakes and you will enjoy whole benefits

One of the Mantras that we recite during Navratri also illustrates the same meaning to us

& that mantra is

Yaa Devi Sarva-bhutesu, Buddhi Rupen Sangsthita

Namastasyai, namastasyai, namastasyai, namo namah

To that goddess who abides in all beings as intelligence, Salutations to Thee i.e. I Respect all

That’s why it is very important to get completely involved in the smallest of the objects for the success of a particular task

You will be much more contented and happy when you are completely involved

So this Ayudh Puja pay Gratitude to every small things, instruments and objects of your daily use
