Ganesh Chaturthi is on 13th September’18, Thursday

Is believed Lord Ganesha was born in Madhyakaal so Lord Ganesha's Puja timing is between 11:03 to 1:30 pm.

This festival is for 11 days and you can do Visarjan or Immersion as per your beliefs and facilities. You can do visarjan on 1 ½ day, 3rd day, 5th Day, 7th day, 10th day or 11th day. 11th day is known as Anant Chaturdashi and many people do visarjan on this day.

Make sure you are following these 7 very important Guidelines before bringing Lord Ganesha’s idol-

  1. While bringing Lord Ganesh statue you must focus on the direction of Lord Ganesha trunk. The left-sided trunk is advisable. The left-sided trunk represents Ida Nadi and brings peace and relaxing energies to you. Ganesha with the Right sided trunk is considered  stubborn and it is difficult to please Him.

  2. Make sure the Ganesha’s idol is in a Sitting position. The idol of sitting Ganesha is best for the house. If you want to place Ganesha’s idol at workplace then standing Ganesha is preferable. This brings energy and enthusiasm to work.

  3. Do not bring a Ganesha’s idol without crown or ‘Mukut’. Mukut/ Crown is a symbol of Unique and big thinking and an idol without the crown is considered as inauspicious. A crown or mukut enhances the beauty of Ganesha’s idol.

  4. On Ganesh Chaturthi, bring only Ganesha’s Idol. Since we perform puja to please Lord Ganesha on this day, thus avoid an idol that has Shiva, Parvati and Ganesha together for Ganesh Chaturthi.

  5. Whenever you are placing the idol of Ganesha, remember that modak (Indian sweet) and a mouse (Mushak) should be a part of the statue.

  6. Do not set up or establish Ganesh’s idol in Bedroom or to a wall which is near or next to Bathroom. It is inauspicious as per Vastu Shastra.

  7. The area of your home that is not as per the norms of Vastu Shastra, make a Swastik with Orange sindoor and cow ghee. Doing this reduces the negative impacts of the Vastu Dosha.

Place Lord Ganesha as per these rules and get His Blessings throughout the year.

Want to create a harmonious, lovable and positive environment for children? Here is a list of Vastu Shastra Tips to be followed for Children Room:

1. Kid’s Room Direction-

As per Vastu for the house the most suitable direction for a kid’s room is west. Apart from this, you can also construct the room in the northeast, northwest, and southeast directions. However, avoid Southwest completely.

2. Kids Bedroom Direction-

Keep the bed in South-west portion of the room and let your child sleep with head towards South or East direction for peace of mind

The door to children’s room should not be exactly opposite to the bed. Rather try placing it an angle from the door.

3. Kids Study Room-

As per Vastu, the study room for kids should be in the North East region or East region. Having a Study room in these directions bring more positivity and more control to concentrate.

4. Mirrors and Windows in Kids Room-

The mirror must never be placed at the opposite side of the child’s bed.

The windows should be designed in the north or east direction.

The doors, as well as windows of children’s room, are best designed in the East or North.

5. Almirah and furniture in Kids Room-

Other furniture items like the study table, couch etc, must be placed a 3 inches away from the walls. Furniture attached to the wall obstructs the flow of positive energies.

The Almirah and cabinets should always be located in the West or South direction of the room.

6. Electronic Gadgets or Items in Kids Room-

Avoid placing electronic gadgets like TV, computer/laptop in children room as they affect child concentration.

But seeing today’s scenario and compulsion, computers should be located in North and Television in South-East direction. Try to keep the center of the room empty.

7. Colors and Light in Kids Room as per Vastu-

Never make use of sharp lights and spotlights in a child’s’ room, as they tend to create mental stress.

Colors effects mood to a great extent. The green color is ideal for children’s bedroom as it increases brain power and also provides freshness and peace.
