Classical proponents of Vastu Shastra suggest different directions for different activities. All these allocations of space is based on the movement of the sun, air, and earth, qualities of that particular direction, rainfall, topography, seasons, and space utilization. So Direction plays very Important role in Vastu Shastra.
There are 10 Directions as per Vastu Shastra. Eight Vasus rule these eight directions and the Lord Brahma as lord God of ether (the heights) and the Lord Vasuki as lord deity of paatal (the depths), the ten deities are described ten dikpalas.
