Actually few aspects of vasthu resemble the factors we consider in design.
For ex, as per vasthu the entrance of a house should face east or north. According to the climate studies are aware of that east and north have good lighting which almost have lesser glare compared to the light in the south and west directions.

This is just 1 example; I personally believe that every science that has originated in India has scientific roots. But in order to make people do it, certain techniques were followed. One such technic in construction field is vasthu. If you dig deep enough you can find scientific reasons for everything that is done.

The Vastu Shashtra indicates us the most suitable place of study table in bedroom is at the middle of North and South West to West direction. If it is not possible than it keep at North East, South East and East direction. 

The face of students while reading should be different direction for different purpose those are :

God gift our human body is made of five elements, mainly, earth, water, fire, air & sky. In the same way the building is combination of the above five elements. If any one of the elements gets disturbed the family members get affected.
