Is there any vastu rule for the measurements of rooms in a house?

Yes, definitely!
East and North rooms should not be bigger than West and South side rooms. If smaller is not possible than these rooms may be equal to the rooms on the West and South.
Similarly, verandahs on the West and South should be bigger than those on the East and North or equal to them.

In general room measurements should be as per vasthu.  Now a days it is not followed because of space consideration.   what ever may be the room shape should be either square or rectangle and it should be in vasthu recommendation.
